Subject Chemistry (CHEM) 5340 Section 10 (CRN: 10050)
Prerequisite or co-requisite: CHEM 3340, 3371 (the latter may be taken as co-requisite). A theoretical treatment of inorganic chemistry to include atomic structure, valence bond, molecular orbital, and ligand field theories; the crystalline state; thermodynamic and kinetic aspects of transition metal chemistry. Laboratory will reinforce concepts developed in lecture. Lecture two hours and laboratory three hours per week. Offered in spring.
