Prerequisites: Grade of C or higher in CNMG 2370. The study ofdefonnation in structural materials: stresses and strains due to tension, compression, torsion, and bending; internal shear forces and bending moments; stress and strain transformations; design of beams and analysis of beam deflections; buckling of columns; introduction to the deformation of structures. Two hours lecture. Two hours lab. Three credit hours. Spring only.
