This course serves as an introduction to literature written by African American authors from the 1920s to the present. We will explore how Black literature has evolved over time and has affected various social, political, and artistic movements, such as the Harlem Renaissance, Realism, Feminism, the Black Arts movement, and the Second Renaissance. The course counts toward the Minor in Race and Ethnicity.
