This course is a focused examination of a variety of special topics in language and literature. Three credit hours.
Cooper Honors Seminar: This class will explore the stories and myths surrounding King Arthur and his court in English, Welsh, and French traditions. Readings will range from seminal texts like Geoffrey of Monmouth’s Historia Regum Britanniae, Wace’s Roman de Brut, and Thomas Malory’s Le Morte d’Arthur to looser adaptations like Tennyson’s “Idylls of the King” and Twain’s A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court.
