Prerequisites: ACOM 1300 or consent of the instructor. Development of the student's ability to manage conflict in organizations, groups, and personal relationships effectively. Topics include theories, styles, patterns, and systems of conflict as well as conflict management techniques of negotiation and mediation. The course uses in-class activities to understand the factors and dynamics of conflict resolution better and to develop effective conflict management skills that include forgiveness and reconciliation. Three credit hours.
This course also includes online work in Blackboard as part of the class requirements.
