Nonverbal Communication2018 Spring

Subject Applied Communication (ACOM) 3350 Section 9H1 (CRN: 15036)

Prerequisites: ACOM 1300 or consent of the instructor. Examination of codes of nonverbal communication within personal, interpersonal, and professional contexts. Topics include the role of appearance, body language, space, touch, paralanguage, artifacts, and time in communication; interpersonal attractiveness; credibility; dominance; and impression management. Focus on using major nonverbal communication theories and concepts to develop a heightened awareness of the role of nonverbal communication in human interaction. Three credit hours.
This course also includes online work in Blackboard as part of the class requirements.
