Subject Educational Foundations (EDFN) 7373 Section 101 (CRN: 30086)

This course presents: a) an introduction or review of the basic tenets of qualitative research; b) an in-depth study of several traditions of qualitative inquiry; c) an introduction to the responsible conduct of human subjects research, including developing a proposal that would be presentable to the UALR Institutional Review Board; d) a skills based approach for learning to do qualitative research through hands-on exercises; e) designed to teach data gathering and data analysis techniques; and f) an opportunity to apply the knowledge gained in the course to the development of a qualitative research study of the student's own design employing one of the qualitative traditions.
